Amazon has incorporated Hinge Health, a digital musculoskeletal care company, into its health conditions program, which was launched in January to help customers connect with virtual care benefits.
This partnership marks Hinge Health as the first digital musculoskeletal platform to be included in Amazon Health Services' initiative designed to help individuals discover and enroll in digital health programs offered by their employers or health plans at no additional cost.
Hinge Health is the fourth addition to Amazon Health Services' digital health benefits program, following the initial collaboration with Omada Health, as well as partnerships with Talkspace and the behavioral health company Rula Health.
The collaboration with Amazon addresses a significant challenge in healthcare: connecting individuals with benefits they may not even be aware of. According to Hinge Health executives, Amazon's health conditions program will enhance access to Hinge Health’s resources for managing and preventing joint and muscle pain, which is a covered benefit for over 18 million people nationwide.
Now, when Amazon customers search for products related to back, joint, or muscle pain, they may also come across Hinge Health’s programs and have the opportunity to verify their eligibility for the services.
With Amazon's extensive consumer base, this partnership opens up new avenues for consumers to enroll in digital health services.
Roughly 40% of adults in the U.S. experience a musculoskeletal condition, such as back, joint, or muscle pain. However, awareness and access to care remain limited, often resulting in missed work, expensive surgeries, and a dependence on pain medications.
